Creative Scene commissions and produces all kinds of arts and cultural activities in some unusual places, in and around the towns of Dewsbury & Batley.

We don’t run a venue or a gallery, instead you will find us putting on gigs and cabaret style theatre in pubs and social clubs, family- friendly shows in community spaces, spectacular events in town centres, parks and at festivals.

A fun and fearless retelling of the story of Joan of Arc, JOAN stars drag idol champ @mxlouiscyfer who plays both Joan herself and the men she defied. As part of @woveninkirklees, we will be hosting two free pop-up screenings of Woven in Film at Brigantia in Dewsbury and @arearugsuk in Mirfield on 8 and 15 June. The screening will consist of Ripping Yarns, a series of short tales by @alistairimacdonald about the innovative textile businesses in Kirklees, and Kirklees Through Textiles, a cornucopia of local historical films curated by Chris Squire.
