As darkness falls on Batley this November, there is a distinct chill in the air. Something is stirring in Wilton Park and sounds can be heard from the old museum high on the hill. But who or what is waiting inside?
With two chilling tales from the golden age of ghost stories including M.R. James’s grisly account of black magic in the Midlands Lost Hearts and Edith Nesbit’s haunting saga of thwarted love The Shadow. Performed by storyteller Matthew Bellwood, in the atmospheric surroundings of the museum by candlelight.
Plus, explore the many intriguing and terrifying objects collected by Walter Bagshaw including ancient Egyptian artifacts, birds of prey and an Edwardian dollhouse. But be warned, the exhibits aren’t the only things locked inside the museum at night.
