Join in the fun, free festivities!

Local artists, performers and producers have been working together with schools, community groups and businesses to create a Christmas event to remember.

Look out for ‘Dewsbury’s Time To Shine’ Santa Hats and Badges for Special offers from shops and stalls

Activities across town from 1.00 p.m- 3.45p.m

Dewsbury Market:

Make your own min-lanterns and join the procession

Watch out for two special Christmas shoppers, puppet street performers will be ambling merrily through the crowds

Market Place:

‘The Firefly’s Den’ and ‘Bringing the Light’ . Step out of the hustle and bustle and into an interactive world of light and shadows, hidden sounds and seasonal stories.

Make your way to the The Town Hall Square for carol signing around the Christmas tree, take your ‘turn’ on the giant mechanical Star ‘Lan-Turns’ and join in story-time in the Giant Christmas Pudding.

3.45 p.m. Lantern Procession ‘The Firefly and the Stars’ with live music from Musica Kirklees & Shri Sriram

4.15 ( approx) Countdown to Christmas Lights Switch with Cricketing legends Hanging Heaton Cricket Club
