Batley does opera!
Join us for the premiere performances of The Batley Variations.
Featuring a large cast of local performers, digital projections and live performance, it tells stories collected from the people of Batley.
Directed by Alan Dix, written by Mike Kenny (international playwright and Olivier Award winner for his adaptation of The Railway Children) and composed by Richard Taylor (winner of two UK Theatre Awards), The Batley Variations is the inside story of a Northern town over 24 hours: its local heroes and eccentrics, the unassuming and the extraordinary, iconic spaces and hidden secrets.
St Mary’s Social Club will be transformed into a spectacular cabaret environment for this musical and visual feast!
Commissioned by Batley Business Association in partnership with Creative Scene.
