Creative Together – A new Co-Creative Arts Network for Kirklees

Creative Together is a brand new regular event open to artists and creatives across Kirklees…and beyond.

Creative Together connect up artists and facilitators who work with participants and communities. Whatever your artform, from poetry, paint or photography to sculpture, scripts or singing, this is a space to meet other artists and discuss ideas, techniques and new skills around workshop delivery. It’s a space to get peer support, listen to examples of co-creation and contribute your thoughts towards a growing network of practitioners.

For the very first session, join us with guest presenter artist Stephen Turner. Stephen is originally from Dewsbury and after many years of working nationally and internationally now has his studio in the town. His work often involves spending long periods in unusual and/or abandoned places. Stephen will be speaking about his ‘Exbury Egg’ – a floating studio, constructed using boat-building techniques. Over 18 months it weathered wind, rain and the sun, rising and falling with the Exbury tide, as Stephen developed creative projects with people responding to the nature, the environment and climate change.
