This opportunity is initially being offered to members of the BANK community, so join us on Wednesday 31 March at 12noon to hear more about the project from Pauline Leitch, who is leading Talking Heads.
The past year has seen a monumental change in how artists work with each other and the wider community. And as we – hopefully – safely return to post-Covid normality, we’re asking artists based in Kirklees to create a self-portrait based on how they look and feel on a Zoom call.
We know that many of our artists are fed up with working in isolation. So to create the feeling of working on a group project, Pauline will host regular digital meet-ups and a WhatsApp group for Talking Heads artists to share their progress and discuss any topics or themes that occur during their process.
At the end of the project, each Talking Head will be displayed together in a group exhibition – at both the online celebration of One Fine Day and at a physical exhibition when restrictions are lifted.
A materials budget of up to £15 per artist is available. Each artist will be supplied with an A3 frame in which to display their artwork.
