WANTED: NORTH KIRKLEES YOUNG PEOPLE TO AUDITION FOR THE JUNGLE BOOK

LBT Young Company

This summer Creative Scene will support young people from North Kirklees to take part in the Lawrence Batley Theatre Huddersfield’s main stage production The Jungle Book.

The brand new take on Rudyard Kipling’s much-loved classic tale will feature members of the LBT’s own Young Company, and we’re holding an open workshop in Dewsbury during May half-term for young people aged 9-21 from North Kirklees who want to perform on stage or join the backstage crew to help with costumes, stage management, lighting and sound.

No previous experience is necessary, and the project offers an amazing opportunity for young people to work with a professional theatre team, including a director, a designer and stage technicians.

Creative Scene will offer support, including travel costs, to local young people who live in postcodes WF12 – 17, BD12 & BD19; are aged 9-21; can attend the open workshop on Friday 29 May (full details below) and are available during the summer holidays (Monday 27 July to Saturday 15 August) for rehearsals and performances.

To book a place on the open workshop at The Greenwood Centre, Dewsbury on Friday 29 May, contact Madeleine Irwin on 01924 437966 or email madeleine@creativescene.org.uk
