Creative Scene in Europe

Last week saw the launch of Tandem Europe, an exchange programme that aims to connect and inspire cultural managers by supporting the sharing of knowledge and experience across geographical and cultural borders. We are delighted that our Creative Producer, Vicky Holliday, was there representing us amongst cities including Paris, Berlin, Rome and Athens.

Vicky was selected as one of 44 representatives from organisations spanning 17 EU member states to attend the partner forum in Milan; 5 days of intensive presentations, discussions and prototyping sessions. Managers came from a wide range of disciplines including architecture, arts, museums, town planning and many more.

Vicky explains: “It was inspiring to hear the range of work that is happening across Europe. Together we had conversations about lots of creative and cross-sector approaches to challenges facing people in Europe from integration of refugees to intervention in public space and civic participation in decision making.”

“There was a lot of interest in the work we are doing here involving the community in commissioning arts activity as well as in the range of partnerships we have been developing. I am now working with PLACCC in Hungary to develop a bid to explore these new commissioning models further and see how they might be applied across Europe.”
